Crest Surveys are utilising unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in order to offer a cost effective alternative to full sized helicopters in order to produce photographic surveys, strengthening our existing choice of low cost survey solutions.
Over the past years there have been many improvements and developments in technology allowing the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the commercial market, and we expect even greater interest over the next ten years. There are many applications that U.A.V helicopters can be used for, from Photogrammeric to Agricultural surveys.
The U.A.V Helicopter has a 2.1m rotor span and is fitted with state of the art navigation systems and controlling software. This gives a hands off autonomous flight backed up with a fully trained ground crew. The U.A.V is enhanced with a live video downlink and an automated digital camera. Other cameras/equipment can be carried in accordance with the client’s requirements.
The U.A.V can be tasked to carry out a survey where pre-defined waypoints are entered into the programmed flight path to record accurate geo-referencing information.
